The City of New York issues millions of parking summonses every year. Each summons must correctly describe the body type of the vehicle to which the summons is issued. For years, the City has been issuing tickets to "tractors" that describe the vehicle as something other than a tractor. (A tractor is defined as a motor vehicle designed and used as the power unit in combination with a semitrailer or trailer, or two such trailers in tandem.)
We were retained to represent a putative class of owners of tractors that were issued summonses by the City on which the vehicle was described as something other than a tractor. The litigation remains pending.
