Legal Career
Casey is an Associate Attorney at Bragar, Eagel & Squire, P.C. She is based out of New Orleans, Louisiana. Clients and attorneys come to Casey for help on complicated legal matters and for her writing skills. She is known as a smart, thorough, and hard-working advocate.
Casey moved to New Orleans in 2010 and fell in love with the city. She attended graduate school at Tulane University where she earned her M.A. in French Studies and met her husband. Later, Casey attended law school at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law where she served as Managing Print Editor on the Loyola Law Review and graduated magna cum laude.
Since graduating, Casey has been a devoted plaintiff-side attorney. Casey got her start as a disaster lawyer—including handling more than 1,000 first-party property insurance claims for policyholders. She also has an extensive background and experience in personal injury, including motor vehicle crash cases (especially those involving ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft), negligent security cases (especially involving third-party criminal actors), and matters involving intensive briefing.
Casey developed a passion for complex litigation work after identifying and initiating the first class action against TikTok for BIPA violations—a case that resulted in a $92 million settlement. Now, Casey is handling other cases to advance consumer rights, including a lawsuit against Hyundai and Kia for security flaws made famous by a TikTok challenge. The parties recently reached a proposed settlement in that lawsuit. The proposed settlement includes reimbursement of up to $145 million in out-of-pocket losses. Casey’s current practice focuses on consumer protection (including product defects), privacy law, social media law, derivative cases, and securities fraud, among other things.
Casey is actively engaged in the legal community. She is the founder of Louisiana Lady Lawyers Group, a monthly meetup of New Orleans attorneys (2019–Present). She also currently serves as a Board Member for the Federal Bar Association-New Orleans Chapter (2022–Present); the Chair of Women’s Caucus Publications Committee for the Louisiana Association of Justice (2019–Present); and a Member of the Committee on the Profession for the Louisiana State Bar Association (2022–Present). In the past, she has served in various roles with the American Bar Association, including as a Team Member for the ABA YLD Disaster Legal Services Team (2018–2021) and Vice Chair of the ABA YLD Solo, Small Firm, and General Practice Committee (2019–2020).
She speaks French and can accommodate clients from France or other Francophone countries.
